The home of a family of artists, situated right outside the village of Alajeró, La Gomera, Canary Islands. The house was built by hand with attention to detail and a love for the natural surroundings. It has open land available as well as a small studio, newly built in 2025, that allows for multiple uses, like wood, metal, stone, and painting.
The house is right beside the family home, but it has enough privacy to feel completely alone, if that is what the artist wishes.
The house is located on an isolated hill, but it is 5 minutes from the nearest Supermarket.
15-minute drive from the Islands airport.
And 25 minutes to either the beach or the Garajonay National Park.
Currently, there are three options of little houses in the BuenaVida home:
-Casa del Medio: hosting 1 artist or a couple comfortably.
-Casa Buenavida: hosting up to 4 people comfortably.
-Casa Studio: hosting 1 artist or a couple comfortably.
Prices and Availability may vary for each house. Only hosting one house as an artist-in-residence at a time.
Our concept is intentionally flexible. Each residency runs its own open calls and funding opportunities. At the same time, the foundation works toward building a shared fund that will support needs-based assistance, new fabrication spaces, and fully funded residency programs. By keeping the structure decentralized, we allow each place to speak in its own voice while still contributing to a collective movement.
